About Adam Hale Tools

Adam Hale Tools is where Adam Hale documents the data tools he builds: Apify actors for public web and government data, and two free browser-based sites.

Who is behind it

Adam Hale builds small, focused tools that replace a monthly subscription or a weekend of scripting. Every guide on this site is written from real test runs; dates and numbers come from those runs and are marked with when they were taken.

Accuracy

Prices of other services are dated because they change. Where something is an estimate, the page says so. If you spot a mistake, email adam.hale@atomicmail.ai and it will be corrected.

Pricing

The actors are free to run right now: they charge no fee of their own, and Apify bills only the compute a run uses against your platform credit. Pay-per-event prices are planned and will be shown on each guide and on Apify before they apply.

Privacy

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. Cloudflare, which hosts it, keeps standard request logs. The free tools process what you enter only to run that one lookup and do not store it. The actors themselves run in your own Apify account; this site never sees their inputs or results.

How the free tools fetch pages

The free tools fetch a page only when a visitor asks for it, one lookup at a time. They identify themselves with the User-Agent AdamHaleTools/1.0 and a link to this page, read robots.txt first and follow it (a robots.txt that answers with a server error is treated as "disallow all"), use no proxies, and do not try to get past bot protection. Private and internal addresses are never fetched, and each site is limited to a few lookups per minute.

To keep the tools off your site, add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: AdamHaleTools
Disallow: /
