TED tender search: find EU public tenders by keyword

Search the EU's official tender database, TED (Tenders Electronic Daily), by keyword and buyer country. You get the newest 25 matching notices with buyer, deadline, estimated value and a link to the full notice on ted.europa.eu. The search runs through the official TED API v3.

Newest 25 notices per search, 10 searches per minute. Data: TED API v3, EU Publications Office.

How the search works

Your keywords become a TED expert query. A search for cyber security in Germany, open tenders only, is sent as:

(FT ~ ("cyber security")) AND buyer-country IN (DEU)
  AND (deadline-receipt-tender-date-lot>=20261012 OR deadline-receipt-request-date-lot>=20261012)
  SORT BY publication-number DESC
  • FT is TED's full-text field (title, description and more), in every language the notice was published in. Searching in the buyer's language finds more.
  • Commas mean OR: cloud, hosting finds notices that mention either.
  • The deadline is the earliest tender deadline that has not passed yet; values are as the buyer estimated them, in the notice's currency.

Tips for better results

  • Use the buyer's language for national tenders: Reinigung in Germany, nettoyage in France.
  • Combine synonyms with commas: software development, application development, IT services.
  • Award notices (who won and for how much) are included; tick "only open" to see tenders you can still bid on.

Limits of the free search

  • Newest 25 notices only. The total number of matches is shown, but only the first page is listed.
  • Keywords and country only. No CPV codes, NUTS regions, value ranges or notice types; the actor has all of those.
  • No alerts. It cannot tell you what is new since yesterday.

Need bulk or scheduled runs? Run it on Apify

The TED Tenders API actor on Apify exports every matching notice with CPV and NUTS filters, value ranges in EUR, lots, winners and award values, and on a daily schedule sends only new tenders to email, Slack or a spreadsheet.

Run it on Apify Read the guide: TED tenders API search

Use it from code

The same lookup is available as JSON for light use (10 requests per minute per IP, no key):

curl "https://tools.adamhaleworks.workers.dev/api/ted-search?q=cyber%20security&country=DE&open=1"

For regular or high-volume use, call the actor through the Apify API instead; the guide shows how. AI agents can use the pay-per-call API instead: several items per call, no rate limit, paid in USDC, no account.

FAQ

What is TED?

Tenders Electronic Daily, the online version of the Supplement to the Official Journal of the EU. Public buyers in the EU and EEA must publish contracts above the EU thresholds there; it carries hundreds of thousands of notices a year.

Is this search free?

Yes. It uses the TED API v3, which is free and needs no API key for searching published notices. This site is not affiliated with the EU Publications Office.

Why do I see notices in other languages?

Titles are shown in English when TED provides an English version; otherwise in the original language. The full-text search covers all languages a notice was published in.

How do I get daily tender alerts?

Schedule the TED Tenders API actor on Apify with your keywords, CPV codes and countries; it returns only notices it has not seen before and can send them to email or Slack.

Can I search by CPV code?

Not in this quick search. The TED Tenders API actor accepts CPV codes (for example 72 for IT services) and matches every code below them.
